2017-2018 Provisional Class

The 2017-2018 Provisional Class of the Junior League of Jackson is comprised of 154 dynamic and talented women who are committed to making a positive impact on our community.  The dedication and excitement that these ladies have demonstrated ensures a healthy and vibrant future for the Junior League of Jackson.

2017-2018 Provisional Projects

  • Arts Explosion Camp / HIS Heart Ministries
    Provisional members provide a week-long summer arts camp for local elementary school children.
  • Backpack Buddies /  Jackson Public Schools
    Provisional members fill hundreds of backpacks with required school supplies for select JPS students.
  • Feed-a-Family / Ronald McDonald House
    Provisional members support and bring meals to families living at the Ronald McDonald House while their children receive intensive care at metro-area medical facilities.
  • Fit Kid Fest / HIS Heart Ministries and Calvary Baptist Church
    Provisional members plan and host a one-day, back-to-school blitz for elementary-aged children.
  • HeARTworks / Stewpot Community Services
    Provisional members work with the adult clients of Stewpot Ministries to create works of art.  Members provide art supplies and refreshments as well as introduce Stewpot clients to new materials and product ideas.
  • Project Rise Summer Reading Program / Operation Shoestring
    Provisional members help students in Project KIDS Summer Program to develop and maintain their reading skills by providing JPS summer reading books and assisting students with their required summer reading.
  • R.E.A.C.H. Day / Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children at UMMC
    Provisional members interact and play with children and their siblings in the cancer clinic located in the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children at UMMC.  Two holiday parties are hosted to provide cheer to deserving patients and their families.
  • Readers to Leaders / Mississippi Children’s Museum
    Provisional members focus on early literacy of under-served JPS students by partnering with the MS Children’s Museum to provide literacy training for students (K-12) and parents participating in One Jackson, Many Readers.
  • Stewpot’s Lunch-n-Learn / Stewpot Community Services
    Provisional members serve fun and nutritious lunches for children participating in Stewpot’s summer program while teaching them about the importance of healthy eating and exercise.
  • Turning Pages / HIS Heart Ministries and Calvary Baptist Church
    Provisional members join Calvary Baptist Church’s Tuesday evening tutoring program by reading with children and providing enrichment activities after their academic support is complete.
  • Uniting Children and Wildlife / Jackson Zoo
    Provisional members run booths and provide assistance at the zoo for three annual events:  Ice Cream Safari (July), Zoo Party (September) and Boo at the Zoo (October).
