Message from the President

On behalf of the 2012-2013 Board of Directors, I’d like to welcome you to the Junior League of Jackson website. Here you will learn more about the League and all of its good work.
Founded 72 years ago, the Junior League of Jackson is an organization of more than 2,400 members committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving our community though the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. As in years past, the League will donate more than $1 million in trained volunteer time and direct financial support to the metro Jackson area. The League is especially proud of its two signature projects, the Mississippi Children’s Cancer Clinic and the Mississippi Children’s Museum.
The Junior League of Jackson is one of the largest non-profit volunteer organizations in the state of Mississippi and the 7th largest Junior League in the world. We partner with local non-profits and organizations to identify and meet vital needs for children and youth in our community.
In 2012-2013, more than 900 Active members will complete 30 community projects focused on children and youth, with specific emphasis in the areas of Arts and Education, Health, and Social Services. These same dedicated women will also operate our three businesses: Bargain Boutique, Mistletoe Marketplace, and JLJ Publications, which has published two award-winning cookbooks and a lovely children’s book. Equally impressive is the continued community service of 1,500 Sustaining members who, having moved beyond their active years of League voluntarism, now serve Jackson with their well-developed leadership in wide-ranging businesses and service activities.
Thank you again for visiting our website. We look forward to seeing you at Mistletoe, Bargain Boutique or out in the community volunteering!
All the best.
Holly Lange
President 2012-2013
