Summer Projects
Summer Project volunteers provide interactive, educational experiences for students throughout the summer months. These summer projects and initiatives represent all three of the League’s community impact areas—Children’s Health, Early Literacy, and Social Development. Summer Projects include the following:
(HIS Heart Ministries)
Volunteers host a weeklong summer camp for children in the community surrounding Calvary Baptist Church.
(Mission First, Inc.)
Volunteers host a weeklong summer camp on the campus of Mission First, exposing campers to all types of arts experiences, including crafts, drama, and music.
(Jackson Public Schools)
Volunteers host a weeklong summer camp for rising 3rd and 4th grade students at Pecan Park Elementary School, providing both academic and extracurricular lessons.
(Mississippi Children’s Museum)
Volunteers assist with a weeklong summer camp hosted by the Mississippi Children’s Museum, focused on intensive reading intervention.
Stewpot Community Services; Operation Shoestring; Jackson Public Schools; Magnolia Speech School
Volunteers work on four different summer initiatives, all with long-standing community partners.
