Connecting Communities

Connecting Communities Day of Service:

Thank you to all of the volunteers who made Connecting Communities a success, whether by volunteering at one of our 10 service projects or through your generous donations. With your help, we connected resources to specific needs and made a meaningful difference throughout the Jackson metro area.

On January 21, 2019, the Junior League of Jackson hosted a series of half-day service projects in the Jackson area. Specifically designed to coincide with Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service events nationwide, we invited our members, partners, and supporters to connect with each other and our shared community through service.

In partnership with Canopy Children’s Solutions, HeARTworks, HIS Heart, Jackson Public Schools, Revitalize Mississippi, and Stewpot, this day of service was designed to harness the strength that we have in connecting volunteer resources to specific needs. From beautifying local neighborhoods to packing critical supplies for foster children and victims of domestic violence and much more, participants chose from a variety of opportunities to make a positive impact in the lives of our community’s children and youth. The service projects listed below were available to our participants for the day of service.
